Basically I’m a very lazy person; I go to the gym for a month, then for the next six months I’m far away from it. This has a lot to do with the fact that I have been blessed physically. I have been consistent with my weight, have had a decent body all my life and I guess, I have taken this for granted.
I just restarted my gym last month and I am enjoying it, but if I start doing a daily soap again, it may get tough to keep up to this new gym schedule. I stay away from protein powder and any other such ‘elements’ which allow for quick results. The faster you get results, the sooner you lose it: easy come, easy go! I do a lot of strength [functional] training; I don’t do heavy weights as I don’t want to go out of shape when I stop. I’m more into using my body weight whilst exercising.

At my home, we don’t believe in dieting; we believe in lifestyle change. I don’t deprive myself of anything, be it a pizza or a biryani. I love my biryani. I eat whatever I want. I don’t live by hard and fast rules. I believe one should eat and drink what you feel like. You should enjoy your life. The only thing I am very particular about is my dinner time: It has to be before 8pm. That’s what I have stuck to since a long time. We have to remember that our body slows down after 8pm and our metabolism comes to a standstill. If you have your dinner before 8pm, your food doesn’t gets stored as fat. I’m also trying not to eat carbs at night because, of late, I have put on a little weight. I drink soups and have salads at night. As a family, we are very heavy on fruits and nuts. Even my kids have 4-5 dates every day instead of having protein bars. We don’t eat anything out of a can or a box: nothing with preservatives. We eat only food that is made in the house.
I believe that spirituality has to come from within, nobody can teach it to you. It comes from your parents, your upbringing. I have been very blessed to have the most amazing parents. Lies and cheating and walking over people to get ahead have never been our agenda. I’m spiritually inclined and a very affectionate person. The feeling of love is my biggest spiritual guide. You evolve when you put people’s needs before yours. I genuinely believe that for spirituality to grow we first need to cleanse ourselves of wrong thoughts. When you live correctly there is a peace of mind that no amount of wealth or technology can give you. In life, you will find people who will run you down; you learn to cut them out. Earlier, I used to get very upset: now I just move away.
I believe every phase of life should be enjoyed and lived to its fullest. No age ever comes back. I want my children to live without regret because I believe in living without regrets.
