Maheck Chahal on her workout routine, eating habits and spiritual quotient…
Workout Routine
My exercise routine varies from day-to-day. I don’t follow the same routine on a daily basis because I get bored very easily. Hence, I make it a bit exciting for myself: I keep changing my exercise routine every day. Yoga, swimming, running, weight-lifting, spinning to kick-boxing… I do it all. Sometimes, I work out on an empty stomach in the morning because that works better on fat burning. At other times, I do the same routine in the evening depending on my work schedule.
Eating Habits
I prefer a low calorie intake. My diet is mostly high in protein (lean protein) and lots of water-based vegetables and fruits. I mostly stay away from sugar and starch. I consume over 13 glasses of water daily. I follow a ‘no roti’, ‘no rice’, ‘no bread’ policy, and it works fabulously for me. I do not go near any fried foods as well. I prefer grilled, lean meats.
Spiritual Quotient
To keep calm, I eat clean; sugar and excess drinking makes one snappy and easily angry. Going for a run also helps me destress. Meditation two times a day is very good. Make sure you do it the right way or get guidance from someone who knows how to do it. I try to keep my head free of negativity by surrounding myself with happy thoughts and happy people. Laughter helps me a lot. Most importantly, it is spirituality that will keep you calm—your connection with the god you believe in!
