War will do to Hrithik Roshan what Wanted did to Salman Khan in 2009. Post Wanted, Salman Khan’s stature grew and he became a steady Box Office magnet for every release thereafter, raking in the moolah for those who invested in him. His fan following too became more pronounced and he began enjoying a phase hitherto not witnessed in his career.
In fact Marigold: An Adventure in India (2007) and God Tussi Great Ho (2008) were taking the star further away from stardom. But Prabhudeva’s directorial debut in Bollywood made Salman the most Wanted star.
Now, one can safely say that the next 10 years will belong to Hrithik gauging from the BO collection and also the manner in which he was greeted by his fans on his screen entry. The Hrithik fever has reached its peak and will only consolidate itself over the next decade.
It’s been 19 years since Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai and Duggu (his pet name) has seen the best and the very worst, life has to offer. After the initial high and the ‘craze’ years, he witnessed the low following his father being shot at. He realised that stardom was not worth it if a loved one was to be lost. Over the years, he has battled with weight issues and poor choices of films, apart from his sister’s ailment. The year 2014 was especially traumatic when news of his alleged break in relationship with his wife Suzanne surfaced. The rumours soon proved to be true and the two divorced amicably. But it were tough years for the now ‘best friends’ who ensured that Hrehaan and Hridaan remained their priorities. It’s rare in Bollywood to see a couple officially separated and so in love.
On their part, they made sure that their kids never felt the brunt of their separation ; they ensured that their family life was ‘fireproof’.

Much of the credit goes to Hrithik and Suzanne who holidayed together with the kids and bonded over time to heal their wounds, to let their kids know that, “In a world separated by lines and ideas, it is still possible to be united. And that you can want different things as people and yet stay undivided. Here’s to a more united, tolerant, brave, open and loving world. It all starts at home.”
These were their holidaying moments last year in Gstaad, Germany. Hrithik had a blast with his boys, sitting on a park bench munching on sandwiches., conning them into getting into the freezing waters whilst involving them in preparing a raft or going on a road trip, al la Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara!

To an outsider, it looked like a family holiday. But to the one looking from Hrithik’s wounded and troubled heart and his lonesome eyes, one could see the pain, the effort and the joy of getting his family back together—emotionally, physically and mentally. It won’t be long before Hrithik and Suzanne tie the knot, once again!
The Decade begins… War with Wanted
According to Box Office reports, the film’s total box office earnings has reached Rs 308.75 crore and its worldwide collections has surged to Rs 457.83 crore, as on October 25, 2019. The figure is only rising, despite the Diwali releases of Housefull 4, Made in China and Saand Ki Aankh.
Fans could not get enough of the star as they went berserk with their views. Shruti Seth had this to tweet: “Just watched #war Action movie buffs, don’t miss this one. Also carry a kerchief to wipe off the drool, whenever @iHrithik appears on screen. One should be penalised for looking this hot.” This was just the tip of the iceberg tweet, so to speak!
It takes a man of immense will-power and character to get back in shape physically, time and again, and work against the tide. It takes a man of immense will-power to shake the ghosts of the past, work on his failed marriage and catch life by the scruff of its neck, so to speak.
That’s what tough guys are made of.
And if you consider that Hrithikwas embarrassed by the Most Handsome Man award, internationally this year, where he says “it’s nothing to be proud of”, I can safely say that the hunt for the next Bond has zeroed down to Hrithik.
Ameesha Patel began the good wishes for her co-star on his birthday on January 10, 2019, tweeting, “May this be the most rocking year ever.”
Believe me, it’s going to be the most rocking decade, ever!
