The essence: Bhoomi is no Pink. Rather, you see red (literally and figuratively speaking) as you leave the theatre. Such utter waste of time, talent and money that too from the director of Mary Kom!
We are so hell-bent in regressive cinema that rape and revenge seems to be the only formula a few filmmakers seem to be banking on. Bhoomi is one such feeble attempt of angering the father and trying to evoke a strong response from the audience.

The whole movie up to the interval is fraught with glitches and tepid performances that beg the question: where is the script?
Shekhar Suman, Sanjay Dutt and the spurned suitor can be blown away with a simple fuu.
The scene at the police station when the father goes to report a rape is so amateurish that you feel sorry for the actors put in the dock. A scene later, the entire village is looking for Bhoomi including the cops who till five minutes ago were interested in a cricket match!
Bollywood is done and dusted with such revenge sagas. Intelligent cinema is the need of the hour. Bhoomi, I believe, will not even be able to cater to the front-benchers!
For the record: Bhoomi is Aditi Rao Hydari and her father is Sanjay Dutt. Shekhar Suman will be wondering how he landed in this mess. Ditto Sanjay Dutt!
