Mumbai girl Sayali Ayre who was crowned Miss Teen Multinational India 2020 at the Kingdom of Dreams, Gurgaon, New Delhi, on January 25, 2021,describes herself as a “Sanguine and benevolent person.”

An athlete, Sayali Ayre (pronounced Saili), she’s quick to correct the mispronunciation, was born in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, and brought up in Mumbai, ‘the city of dreams’. “I don’t want to just belong to somewhere geographically. I want to belong in people’s hearts and mind, as they draw inspiration from me,” says the second year Engineering student at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Sardar Patel Institute of Technology, Andheri.

Opening Doorz caught up with the Miss Teen Multinational India, for who Miss Teen Diva 2020 was her first shot at a professional Pageant. Here, she talks about herself, her dreams, and her desire to make a difference in the lives of others.

Sayali Ayre, the girl beneath the crown…

I would describe myself as a sanguine and benevolent person. The quality of forbearance has given me the ability to handle positions of responsibility; of being a Prefect in school to now, a Chairperson of a student cell in college. I’m a fun-loving girl and thoroughly savour the company of friends. From early childhood, I’ve displayed a keen interest in dance. My other hobbies include painting, swimming and travelling. My thrilling life experiences range from paragliding at the age of four, to river-rafting, swimming with dolphins and indoor sky-diving. I am an individual who loves to embark on new adventures and set myself on a limitless journey to learn, grow and evolve.

Sayali Ayre and her achievements in a nutshell…

Since childhood, I’ve excelled in all walks of life. I’ve cracked various competitive exams like Maharashtra State Scholarships and Homi Bhabha Young Scientist exam to name a few. I’ve also received a Gold Medal in International English Olympiad. I’ve bagged a Gold Medal in Floor Gymnastics as well as won merit in drawing and painting competitions. Recently, I won a few national-level business competitions. I hope I can add a few more achievements to my repertoire soon.

Academics have always been my priority. I spent most of my school life preparing and appearing for various competitive exams. I enjoyed participating in all extracurricular activities in school and was a part of more than six college clubs. I’m currently holding positions of Chairperson of Industry Relations Cell S.P.I.T. and Head of Advertising at Entrepreneurship Cell, S.P.I.T. Ever since I was a little girl, Pageants have always fascinated me. The thought of having a crown on the head and being in a position to make a difference in society always excited me. So, naturally I was drawn towards this path of being a participant in Miss Teen Diva 2020.

Sayali Ayre and her journey with Cocoaberry…

The Raut sisters are the first thing that comes to mind when you think of modelling and Pageants. Alesia Ma’am has trained many Miss India contestants and that’s how I came to know about Cocoaberry, Talent and Academy. When I decided to participate in Pageants, I immediately enrolled for their training program. I was a student of their August Online batch. My journey with Cocoaberry has been sensational. Alesia Ma’am’s ramp walk sessions have helped me improve my posture and technique. It helped me add confidence to my walk.

Personality grooming with Anjali Ma’am has been quite a journey. The sessions helped me build my vocabulary and critical thinking skills. We also discussed various topics that helped me become more self aware as well as that of the world around me. All in all, this has transformed me in a better and confident version of myself.

Sayali Ayre and her desire to be an eager learner…

Currently, I am in my second year of Engineering at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Sardar Patel Institute of Technology, Andheri. I completed my schooling from Rustomjee International School, Mumbai. This Crown has given me a bigger responsibility and I am looking forward to representing India at the International level. However, I believe that learning is a life-long process. In my quest to uplift the underprivileged, I am learning a lot as I do my bit by teaching at a local NGO. I’ve also been a part of the 5km-long River March to raise awareness about the depleting condition of the Mithi River and the surrounding areas.
