International Women’s Day Special

On International Women’s Day, we at Opening Doorz are celebrating three ordinary women who are a role models.

International Women’s Day: Nidhi Sunil

Nidhi Sunil is a lawyer by profession who is now making a name for herself on the international scene. Nidhi has been an inspiration to many and she has championed breaking barriers and stereotypes at every level. Her focus on who she is and what she aspires to be at each stage of her profession is something which comes with a lot of discipline and self awareness. Although her performance in the Bollywood film Gangoobai (2013) was appreciated, Nidhi has always been picky about the projects she wants to work with as far as movies are concerned. Not bagging more roles was more a matter of choice.

International Women’s Day: Aneeta Patel

Although acting was what Aneeta Patel was keen on, she soon realised that being behind the camera was what she enjoyed most. Here is where she found her mojo. Thus was born ‘That Girl Who Makes Films’. Aneeta the creative genius was seen in full bloom. What’s exciting is to see her passionate about the people she is working with, both in front of the camera and in her technical team. Two short films have already had the desired impact: She’s D One and The Bar. A third, The Meeting is ready for release. And what Aneeta has done as a director in a short span of 10 minutes is pure genius. She’s slick, knows her camera angles and leaves a lot to the viewer’s imagination.

International Women’s Day: Mitali Sonawane

Mitali Sonawane is the girl who defied death. Fit as a fiddle, she is super confident and wears her scars to reveal the beauty within. Mitali is now focussed on storming the beauty scene. “I hate the typical 9-5 job. My family is happy with the profession I have chosen and all are very supportive. I have received tremendous support from the fashion industry and that has helped me in my quest. Everywhere I go, people are curious to know what happened to me. And they are happy that I have chosen this path. The best part is, no one is sympathetic and sympathy is not something I’m looking for,” says Mitali who wants to endore Reebok and Nike.

Come right in… Let’s celebrate International Women’s Day. Let’s Celebrate Life!
