A photographer’s delight, Akshita becomes the subject she is asked to be when in front of the camera, with no inhibitions. Surprisingly, when you speak with her, she is a little nervous and a lot shy. It takes time for her to get comfortable. But not before the camera!
Born and raised in Mumbai, Akshita was waiting for the day she would turn 18. That was four years ago. Ask her why and she smiles: “I wanted to get away from Mumbai and stay independent. I wanted to see what life had to offer and I wanted to stand on my own feet.” In Delhi, she applied for an Air Hostess job with various airlines and got selected for Vistara.

“It was very hard to live by yourself and that too in Delhi where there is no one to take care of you,” she reveals. After working for some time she moved back to Mumbai to try her hand at modelling. Flying taught her a lot and it opened her young mind. She became more confident and the road map started becoming clearer for her. There have been worse incidents too, which helped her navigate through life more confidently.
When in Delhi, a friend suggested that she audition for Aijo. Not being from this industry she was at first apprehensive. “I did not want to be a model,” she reveals. Somehow she went for the audition and got selected. “They liked my profile and called me to Bangalore for a shoot. That’s how my modelling journey started,” she reminisces.
Sought after by agencies
After just this one Advertisement, she started receiving calls from a lot of agencies. “I selected Inega,” she says.
In the past two years, Akshita has done a couple of e-commerce shoots, editorials, jewellery shoot and one TVC for Enamour. She has also shot for Manish Malhotra.
Ask her to describe Akshita in one line and pat comes the reply: “Akshita is hardworking, honest and an ambitious girl. I have my own stories.”
