The Don Bosco Night Study Class has been founded to provide children a space where they can focus on their studies. Help is at hand in the form of teachers who clear doubts. Moreover, students who are in their crucial years of Std X and XII have always benefitted in a big way and Christopher’s story is no different.
“Had it not been for the love, care and support I received at Shelter Don Bosco, it would not have been possible for me to start out on my own. I owe my confidence in life to Shelter,” says Ejaz Khan who was rescued from the streets.
Opening Doorz met up with D Sivanandhan, Mumbai’s former Sherlock Holmes (Joint director CBI, West Zone, under whom extortion threats came down drastically) for a tête-à-tête at his India Bulls office in Lower Parel.
In line with the Festival celebrating the depth and diversity of contemporary Indian culture as the Country of Honour, ‘Merchants of Bollywood’ is only the first in a lineup of sublime acts commemorating and highlighting India’s vast cultural and artistic heritage.
Tannishtha Chatterjee, who played the life Dr. Rakhmabai, and who was also present at the screening said: “I think there is no better way to celebrate International Women’s Day than to have a screening of a film like this. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to have actually lived her life.”

By obedience and surrender I often find myself in a good place in life. Challenges are many but I usually ride over them with my faith and fellowship with Christ. I always know that no matter what happens, with Him by my side I will come out just fine.
Bajrangi has dealt with many misfortunes, right from being persuaded by his friends to leave his home to attempting to end his life over a failed love affair. But Don Bosco Shelter has supported him throughout.
With his likeable spirit, youthful enthusiasm and a desire to please his audience, the 29-year-old likes to take things one step at a time. “I never plan things; I like it when life surprises me. I just want to keep working hard. Rest all is destiny,” he says.
