Ashmita Bakshi is style personified. A product from the stable of ‘Brand Femina’, Ashmita has been making slow, but sure inroads into Bollywood. Coming from a family with a lineage in sports, Ashmita, though curious about sports during her school days, decided to take the glamour route. Her grandfather, late Mr Dilbaugh Singh Bakshi was a renowned hockey player, while her father, Mangha Singh Bakshi is currently the President of the Mumbai Hockey Federation. And although discussions on hockey has predominantly held centre stage at their home, movies, and what her next moves should be is what is being discussed at the dinner table.

“I have not yet done such scenes but being an actor it is something I will be comfortable doing,” says Ashmita Bakshi

Ashmita began her quest to set a foot into the glamour world by bagging the second runner-up spot at the Femina Style Diva 2016-17. That apart, she also bagged the Best Smile and Best Body (Fitness) Award. Last year, she was seen in Apurva Lakhia’s Haseena Parkar and Fryday apart from Emraan Hashmi’s Cheat India this year.

At the moment, Ashmita is focussing on web series and is part of three new shows, which she is not revealing much about. Ask her if there are those mandatory bold scenes and she is quick to reply, “Yes.”

Probe further what the scenes are all about, she smiles a little embarrassed. “I have not yet done such scenes but being an actor it is something I will be comfortable doing,” is all that she is willing to say. This apart, she is also in talks for Punjabi films.

Three months from now, we will be seeing a lot of Miss Bakshi and she promises she will reveal more then.

Here’s wishing she score well on the big screen. Considering she has done her MBA, we can be sure she has her blue print in place, marking the upward graph her career needs to take.
