War has shattered box office records, amassing an impressive ₹308.75 crore domestically as of October 25, 2019, and ₹ 457.83 crore worldwide. This phenomenal success marks a turning point for Hrithik Roshan’s career, much like Wanted did for Salman Khan back in 2009. Hrithik Roshan is poised to become a major box office star, with every new film likely to be a hit, as his fan base continues to expand. Just like Salman following Wanted, Hrithik is stepping into an exciting new chapter in his career.
In fact, Marigold: An Adventure in India (2007) and God Tussi Great Ho (2008) were taking the star further away from stardom. But Prabhudeva’s directorial debut in Bollywood made Salman the most Wanted star.
War‘s huge box office success and the way fans have responded to Hrithik Roshan’s performance show that the coming years are likely to be his. This film is a real turning point, setting him up for lasting superstardom.
The Man Behind the Star
It’s been 19 years since Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai, and Hrithik Roshan has experienced both the highs and lows of life. After his early success, he faced tough times, especially after his father was attacked. He learned that fame isn’t worth it if it means losing someone close. Over the years, he’s dealt with weight struggles, some poor film choices, and his sister’s illness. In 2014, his breakup with Suzanne became public, and they eventually divorced, but they stayed close and focused on their sons, Hrehaan and Hridaan. It’s unusual in Bollywood to see a separated couple remain so caring toward each other.
On their part, they made sure that their kids never felt the brunt of their separation. They ensured that their family life was “fireproof.”
Standing up as Parents
Much of the credit goes to Hrithik and Suzanne. Recently, they holidayed together with the kids and bonded over time to heal their wounds. It was a special time to let their kids know that, “In a world separated by lines and ideas, it is still possible to be united. You can want different things as people and yet stay undivided.” A united, tolerant, brave, open, and loving world starts at home.
Last year, they created lasting memories together on holiday in Gstaad, Germany. Hrithik treasured the moments spent with his sons. Whether they were sharing sandwiches on a park bench, encouraging each other to brave the cold water, building a raft, or embarking on a road trip reminiscent of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, it was truly quality time well spent.
To most onlookers, it appeared to be just a typical family holiday. However, for Hrithik, it represented the hard work, pain, and joy involved in bringing his family back together in every way possible. It may not be long before Hrithik and Suzanne marry again.
The Defining Decade is Here
According to Box Office reports, the film’s total box office earnings have reached ₹308.75 crores and its worldwide collections have surged to ₹457.83 crore, as of October 25, 2019. The figure is only rising, despite the Diwali releases of Housefull 4, Made in China, and Saand Ki Aankh.
Fans could not get enough of the star as they went berserk with their views. Shruti Seth had this to tweet: “Just watched #war Action movie buffs, don’t miss this one. Also, carry a kerchief to wipe off the drool, whenever @iHrithik appears on screen. One should be penalised for looking this hot.” This was just the tip of the iceberg tweet, so to speak!
It takes a man of immense willpower and character to get back in shape physically, time and again, and work against the tide. It takes a man of immense will-power to shake the ghosts of the past, work on his failed marriage, and catch life by the scruff of its neck, so to speak.
That’s what tough guys are made of
And if you consider that Hrithik Roshan was embarrassed by the Most Handsome Man award, internationally this year, where he says “it’s nothing to be proud of,” I can safely say that the hunt for the next Bond has zeroed down to Hrithik.
Ameesha Patel began the good wishes for her co-star on his birthday on January 10, 2019, tweeting, “May this be the most rocking year ever.”
Believe me, with War‘s impact, this is set to be not just Hrithik Roshan’s most rocking year but his defining decade. Much like Salman Khan’s rise from the launchpad of Wanted, Hrithik’s War mirrors that milestone moment, promising a future where every release will dominate the box office. With records already shattered and a growing fan base, Hrithik Roshan is now standing at the threshold of a spectacular era, ready to carve his name alongside the legends.
