For me, my work is my spirituality! More often than not I’m doing a couple of different projects at my office along with juggling my acting assignments! I don’t stress easily because I don’t suffer fools.

Parvin Dabbas on his workout routine, eating habits and spiritual quotient…
I’ve always been someone who works out regularly; I just don’t feel good if I don’t work out on any particular day and that would also only be if I’ve injured myself at a shoot or then just can’t make time due to work. I’m a member of a couple of gyms but I like to alternate my gym days with different classes: Sometimes CrossFit, sometimes a kick-boxing class or a version of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) or sometimes a Functional Training class. I like to mix up my workouts so my body doesn’t get used to any one type of exercise. I also love nature trails and hiking or cycling whenever I can. I have cycled from Manali to Leh in 2014!

Frankly, I don’t think anyone can or should follow any other individual’s diet. One must find out what works for one’s own body and eat accordingly. Personally, I keep away from sugar completely (since I have a sweet tooth and tend to binge!) and even if I do indulge, I opt for a sugar-free version. I’ve tried various diets: Paleo, Keto and Vegan and personally the Keto diet worked best for me but as it’s not a feasible long-term diet, once I reached my ideal weight, I slowly went off it. I completely avoid rice and rotis and frankly don’t miss them at all. Grilled chicken, fish or prawns with a nicely flavoured salad works for me!
Nowadays, most restaurants have Vegan or Keto options so even if we’re eating a pizza, I will eat a Keto pizza! This is available at Farmers Cafe, Bandra. Intermittent fasting is something else that worked well for me in losing weight. I do plan to try to drink six litres of water a day but just haven’t been able to do that yet though I believe it has many benefits!

I don’t stress easily because I don’t suffer fools. I’m a Cancerian and I naturally tend not to forget things and keep feelings bottled up. Of late, I’ve learnt to control that to quite an extent and have realised that sometimes letting go is the best option! I’m definitely not the meditating type, but I love to listen to my kind of music or watch a fun, stand-up comedy show. The mantra I live by is ‘there is no substitute for hard work’. So work hard and then feel free to party hard!
