Adah Sharma is hot and happening down South, and next month she returns to Bollywood with Commando 2, opposite Vidyut Jamwal.

In 2008, Adah literally stormed the screen, making her debut in a role, not many girls would dare to even dream of. As a possessed woman in 1920, Adah passed the test, but films in Bollywood were slow to come by. She headed south, and almost gave them a Heart Attack!

Hang on. That was the name of her debut flick! “Heart Attack was my debut in south films. It was a Telugu film. A love story produced and directed by Puri Jagannath. It was one of the biggest hits of the last year for which I got the Best Debut Award,” reveals Adah who keeps shuttling between Mumbai and the South when assignments beckon. Considering South films are full of dance and dream sequences, how come there were none of these elements in Heart Attack, we ask. “The film didn’t have any dance in it since it was an emotional love story and Puri Sir didn’t want to burst into dream sequences,” laughs Adah.

Her second release, Son of Satyamurthy, with Trivikram Srinivas as the director, opposite Allu Arjun got one of the biggest openings of the year (2015). Rana Vikrama was her Kannada debut opposite Puneeth Rajkumar last year. “In this film, I played a college girl. It was an out-and-out commercial entertainer and one of the biggest hit last year,” reveals Adah.

Throwing light on her hectic, current schedule down south, which is currently her hot spot, Adah says, “I shot for four Telugu films and will soon make my Tamil debut as well. I also shot for a film with director Harish Shankar and did another commercial entertainer, a love story called Garam where I played a Muslim girl. But the film with producer PVP is probably one of the toughest roles I’ve done till date as the film spans over 10 years.”

Back in the South after shooting a romantic shot in Ladakh, Adah reveals that she has done something completely different in Commando 2. What that is, she isn’t willing to reveal. “I try something new with each film. With Commando 2 you will see me doing something I haven’t done before,” she smiles.

Considering she ate a kitten with terrifying glee in 1920, it’s not hard to believe this actress who is willing to go that extra mile to make her role stand out. The menacing way in which she spoke and her fearful lunges in 1920 still come to mind.

With Commando 2, let’s hope Adah surprises once again.
